I present, Beach House on South Lake Tahoe, at sunset.
One of my favorite things about California is the people who live there. Born and raised or traveling transplants, everyone is on the same agenda - good vibes & good times.
Heavenly Mountain was blessed with record breaking amounts of snow in 2017 and the lifts were still up and running well into June. At least they were, until THE DAY BEFORE we got there. The locals all too easily sympathized with bummed-out-ski-bums and knew just the spot to make the trip all worth it...

It’s a BAR, on the BEACH, overlooking the LAKE, in the MOUNTAINS!
The band was jammin’ as we all became best friends. But then suddenly, like clockwork, everything stopped, everyone stared and life stood still.
Colors I have never seen glistened from the mountains, danced atop the water and swept through the sky.
A western sunset.
I may not have been summiting Heavenly but this place is exactly what I imagine Heaven to be.
